Leila Stuart, Centerpoint Yoga Therapy

Leila3A Message from Leila Stuart… I have been a student of yoga for over 35 years and a teacher since 1993. coque iphone pas cher Drawing on my passion for anatomy and my background as a Registered Massage Therapist specializing in structural realignment and movement repatterning, I have developed a transformational system of therapeutic yoga called Centerpoint Yoga Therapy, which caters to students with physical, mental and spiritual challenges. In classes and workshops, my focus is to create the conditions for students to experience their wholeness by exploring experiential anatomy and the interplay between awareness, gentle movement and breath. coque iphone By cultivating a felt sense of their “living” anatomy and inherent body wisdom, students can apply this intelligence in a practical way to their own healing process. coque iphone 2019 pas cher In my yoga therapy classes, I invite students to make yoga a living transformational process by asking them to practice “off the mat.” I strongly believe that the whole being in all dimensions must be engaged in order for healing to happen; this can occur when awareness is cultivated on a moment-to-moment basis. coque iphone I also strongly believe that the deeper teachings of yoga can be embodied so as to become a daily transformational experience. I had firsthand experience of the transformational potential of this practice when I developed a debilitating fatigue condition in 2001 and crippling rheumatoid-type arthritis in 2005. For 10 years, I was unable to do anything but the simplest, minimal physical practice; I was so grateful for all of the yoga therapy tools that I knew. It was awareness, meditation and the practice of Witness Consciousness that kept me going and prevented me from living in despair. coque iphone I was always able to do SOMETHING that would bring about some change in what I was experiencing. During this time, yoga transformed from a theoretical practice into an absolutely practical, lived experience.

Video: Epigenetics – Nature vs. Nurture in Cancer Research

Once nurture seemed clearly distinct from nature. Now it appears that our diets and lifestyles can change the expression of our genes. coque iphone 6 How? By influencing a network of chemical switches within our cells collectively known as the epigenome. This new understanding may lead us to potent new medical therapies. vente de coque iphone Epigenetic cancer therapy, for one, already seems to be yielding promising results.

http://www.pbs.org/wgbh/nova/body/epigenetics.html In biology, and specifically genetics, epigenetics is the study of heritable changes in gene activity that are not caused by changes in the DNA sequence; it also can be used to describe the study of stable, long-term alterations in the transcriptional potential of a cell that are not necessarily heritable. Unlike simple genetics based on changes to the DNA sequence (the genotype), the changes in gene expression or cellular phenotype of epigenetics have other causes, thus use of the term epi- (Greek: επί- over, outside of, around) -genetics. The term also refers to the changes themselves: functionally relevant changes to the genome that do not involve a change in the nucleotide sequence. coqueiphone Examples of mechanisms that produce such changes are DNA methylation and histone modification, each of which alters how genes are expressed without altering the underlying DNA sequence. coque iphone Gene expression can be controlled through the action of repressor proteins that attach to silencer regions of the DNA. coque iphone These epigenetic changes may last through cell divisions for the duration of the cell’s life, and may also last for multiple generations even though they do not involve changes in the underlying DNA sequence of the organism; instead, non-genetic factors cause the organism’s genes to behave (or “express themselves”) differently. (There are objections to the use of the term epigenetic to describe chemical modification of histone, since it remains unclear whether or not histone modifications are heritable.) One example of an epigenetic change in eukaryotic biology is the process of cellular differentiation. During morphogenesis, totipotent stem cells become the various pluripotent cell lines of the embryo, which in turn become fully differentiated cells. In other words, as a single fertilized egg cell – the zygote – continues to divide, the resulting daughter cells change into all the different cell types in an organism, including neurons, muscle cells, epithelium, endothelium of blood vessels, etc., by activating some genes while inhibiting the expression of others. In 2011, it was demonstrated that the methylation of mRNA plays a critical role in human energy homeostasis. The obesity-associated FTO gene is shown to be able to demethylate N6-methyladenosine in RNA.

Voge Smith – Psyche Practitioner

Voge-Logo3An Integrative Approach to Releasing

There is no pain in your life that cannot be relieved, no incident in your life from which you were never meant to heal, no heartache so great you cannot be free of its grip, no lack that cannot be replaced by unlimited abundance and no emptiness so deep that it cannot be filled by Divine Love.  This is my Purpose, this is your purpose, and this is where we meet.  When you realize that your pain, your heartache, lack or emptiness is all for your liberation, you have mastered the Art of Evolution. I have made it my life’s work to assist individuals in seeing their issues in the context of their personal evolution. From this perspective they become aware of how to share their unique gifts, contributing to the evolution of humanity.

These are just a few of the areas I work with people:

  • Releasing Trauma
  • Releasing Obstacles and Barriers
  • Couples Work

Santa Barbara Healing Sanctuary

Santa Barbara Healing Sanctuary“We live in exciting and interesting times. Nowhere is this more true than in the fields of medicine and healing. Recent discoveries in neuroscience validate healing traditions that are thousands of years old, and show that the mind/body connection is indeed very real. They point to new directions in the ways we think of and treat disease, and promote wellness.

The ground-breaking work being done in this area has led a group of highly experienced clinicians, and other professionals to establish the Santa Barbara Healing Sanctuary program, a significant resource for those who wish to maintain optimal health. The Sanctuary s unique program is multi-faceted and multi-disciplinary. The SB Healing Sanctuary convenes for 10 days per session at a stunning mountain retreat in Santa Barbara overlooking the Pacific. Each of these sessions is coordinated for the participants by a team of professionals. Each participant receives a personalized treatment plan, which integrates cutting-edge medical support with proven therapies encompassing nutrition and cooking, meditation, creative arts, reflective writing, therapeutic yoga, acupuncture, aquatic therapy, and more.

What makes the Santa Barbara Healing Sanctuary program unique, distinguishing it from other integrative healing programs, is its emphasis on the healing potential of dreams. Dreams give individuals access to a form of intelligence originating deep inside the brainstem, where signals travel up to the cortex and down through the neuro-endocrine system to affect the body at a micro-cellular level. This activity, as natural and innate as the human heartbeat, has extraordinary therapeutic potential and is widely thought to trigger thebody’s own self-healing response. The Santa Barbara Healing Sanctuary has been designed to maximize these effects.
